Jeweled Tears

Psalm 56:8-11

I fell to my knees in the quiet dark,

and the tears came —

the kind no one sees

And no one hears.

My thoughts grew louder than the world around me.

They raged with anger,

hid behind shame,

and trembled with fear.

And I wondered:

Does any of this matter?

Does anyone even notice?

Does anyone care enough to help me stand again?

It felt like the answer was no.

No one had time for my problems.

No one stopped long enough

to tell me my tears meant anything at all.

My sinister strongholds have whipped my soul,

and turned my spirit against me.

The weary of the battle has left me lying in the dark,

ready to disappear with my tears.

But right when I decided to give up,

a quiet voice rose inside saying,

“Rise, My child.

I have kept count of every restless night.

Every tear you’ve cried,

I’ve collected them like gems in My bottle.

Put your trust in Me.

Do not be afraid.

What can man do to you?

I will never fail you.

I know the number of tears you have cried.

I have written the number in My book.

I am the One who comforts your broken heart.

When you think no one is listening,

I always am.

Your jeweled tears have always had value to me.

In a busy world, it’s easy to feel unnoticed — like your pain gets lost in the noise and your voice fades into the background. But that feeling isn’t the truth. You matter more than you think.

People will disappoint you.

Not because you’re unimportant,

but because humans get distracted, overwhelmed, and wrapped up in their own struggles.

If you expect people never to fail you, you will be disappointed.

But God never fails.

Even when it feels like He’s far away, He’s paying attention.

Even when you think no one sees your tears, He does.

Psalm 56:8-11 says He keeps track of every tear, every fear, every night you couldn’t sleep.

But here is the truth, God wants us to pay attention to.

To slow down.

To notice the people around us.

To listen when someone is hurting.

To care the way He cares.

Because sometimes the miracle someone needs

is simply another human being who sees them.

This poem is for anyone who feels invisible —

and for anyone who needs the reminder to look up and see others the way God does.

Here is a question to you guys: When was the last time you actually took time to notice someone in need? Thanks for listening, and let me know what is on your mind, and always ponder good thoughts.
